Materials Needed:

  • 8 millimeter crochet hook
  • Soft and thick yarn (Yarn Inspirations yarn was used in the video)

Starting Your Project:

Create a Loop:

  • Begin by making a loop with your yarn.

Chain 7-8 Stitches:

  • Chain a total of 8 stitches. The 8th chain is an extra and is not used in the pattern; it simply provides some extra room. You will mainly work into the 7th chain.

Working the First Row:

Save

Start the First Stitch:

  • With your chain facing you, insert your hook into the 7th chain.

Create a Stitch:

  • Yarn over and pull through, then yarn over again and pull through two loops on your hook.

Continue Across:

  • Repeat this process for each chain across to complete your first row.

Creating Loops:

Turn Your Work:

  • After completing the first row, turn your work to start the loops.

Insert the Hook:

  • Insert your crochet hook through the front of the stitch.

Wrap the Yarn:

  • Yarn over and then move the hook to the back, pulling the yarn through. You should have three loops on your hook.

Save

Complete the Loop:

  • Yarn over again and pull through all three loops on your hook. This creates your first loop.

Repeat the Process:

  • Continue this method to create loops for each stitch across the row.

Continuing Your Project:

Repeat the Steps:

  • After completing a row of loops, turn your work and continue creating loops as described. You will essentially repeat these steps to build up the pattern, creating a fabric with a loopy texture on one side and a neat appearance on the inside.

Final Steps:

  • Once you've reached the desired length for your project, you can fasten off and weave in ends as usual.
