- Chain 9.
- 2 hdc in the 3rd chain from the hook. [The skipped 2 chains count as 1 hdc].
- Hdc in each of the next 5 chains.
- 6 hdc in the last chain. This creates a turn for the shoe.
- Working on the opposite side of the chain, hdc in the next 5 chains.
- 3 hdc in the same space as the beginning 2 hdc (creating a symmetrical shape for the sole).
- Join with a sl st to the top of the initial 2 chains skipped.
Sole Expansion:
- Chain 3 (counts as 1 dc here and throughout the pattern).
- Dc in the same space.

Round Count:

- Join with a sl st to the beginning hdc.
Building the Sides:
- Chain 1 and hdc in both loops in each stitch around. [34 hdc]
- Join with a sl st to the beginning hdc.
Shaping the Front (Toe Area):
- Chain 1.
- Hdc in the first 9 stitches.
- Perform dc2tog eight times to create the toe shape. (This reduces stitches and creates a curve).
- Hdc in the last 9 stitches.
- Join with a sl st to the beginning hdc.
Finishing the Bootie:
- For the cuff, chain 1 and make hdc in each stitch around for 6 rows to create a cuff. [22 hdc per row]
- Fasten off and weave in all ends neatly.
Additional Notes:
- If your sole measurement doesn't match (for 3 to 6 months, the sole should measure between 10 and 10.5 cm), adjust your hook size accordingly.
- Decorate as desired. You can add flowers, buttons, or other embellishments for a personalized touch.
