  1. Magic Ring: Make a magic ring using beige yarn.
  2. Round 1: Place 6 single crochets (sc) in the magic ring.
  3. Round 2: Increase round - 1 sc in first stitch, 2 sc in the next stitch. Repeat around (12 stitches).
  4. Round 3: 1 sc, then 2 sc in next stitch (repeat 6 times for 18 stitches total).
  5. Rounds 4-7: Continue increasing each round as described, following the established pattern.
    • For next rounds add 6 stitches per round until round 7.
  6. Rounds 8-19: Work even (sc in each sc around).
  7. Rounds 20-25: Gradually decrease following the pattern established, decreasing six stitches per round until round 25.
  8. Finish: Close up the head with a final decrease round; tie off and leave a tail for sewing.

  1. Insert Safety Eyes: Place the safety eyes between rounds 12 and 13 with a separation of 7-8 stitches between the eyes.
  2. Face Shaping: Using black yarn, thread through top and bottom of eye positions to pull for shaping.

Ears & Horns:

  • Horns: Begin with Magic circle using brown yarn. Increase rounds for the first two rounds, followed by 2-3 rounds even. Change to yellow yarn and continue for few more rounds even.
  • Ears: Begin similarly but with yellow yarn. Continue shaping by increasing stitches for several rounds followed by rounds worked even. Sew closed and attach near the horns.

Face Details:

4 Save

  • Nostrils and Eyebrows: Stitch on details using brown or black yarn at appropriate facial points, embroidering to give character and texture.

Part 2: Body and Appendages

This portion would include crochet instructions similar in style to the head, using rounds of increasing, even, and decreasing stitches to shape the body, arms, and legs. Each limb may be started with a magic circle and continued in a tube-like form, increasing or decreasing as necessary to achieve the desired shapes. Spots are created and attached separately.

Assembly:

Assemble the giraffe by sewing all the parts together securely, starting from the head, attaching the body, then limbs, and finalizing with the ears and horns. Ensure all parts are stuffed appropriately before closing.

Finishing Touches:

Add any additional details such as a tail, further facial features, or more spots as desired. Secure all threads and ensure eyes and other parts are fixed safely, especially if the giraffe is intended for a child.

This general guideline should help you crochet a giraffe. Adjust hook size and yarn weight according to your desired size and finish of the giraffe. Happy crocheting!
