Materials Needed:

  • Yarn (Orange for pumpkin body, Brown for stem, and Green for leaf)
  • 2.5 mm crochet hook
  • Stitch marker
  • Pair of scissors
  • Safety eyes

Pumpkin Amigurumi Pattern

1 Save

Round 1:

  • Make a magic ring.
  • Work 8 single crochet (sc) into the ring.
  • Tighten the ring to close the hole.
  • Mark the first stitch with a stitch marker for easier tracking.

Round 2 (Increase round):

  • Make 2 sc in each stitch around (16 sc total).
  • Mark the first stitch.

2 Save

After Round 3:

  • 1 sc in the first stitch, then 2 sc in the next stitch (increase)
  • Repeat from to around (24 sc total).
  • Mark the first stitch.

Round 4:

  • 1 sc in the next two stitches, then 2 sc in the following stitch (increase)
  • Repeat from to around (32 sc total).
  • Mark the first stitch.

Round 5:

  • 1 sc in the next three stitches, then 2 sc in the following stitch (increase)
  • Repeat from to around (40 sc total).
  • Mark the first stitch.

In Round 6:

  • 1 sc in the next four stitches, then 2 sc in the following stitch (increase)
  • Repeat from to around (48 sc total).
  • Mark the first stitch.

3 Save

Rounds 7 to 14:

  • Work 1 sc in each stitch around.
  • Continue to mark the first stitch of each round.

Round 15 (Decrease round):

  • 1 sc in the next four stitches, then sc two stitches together (decrease)
  • Repeat from to around.

In Round 16:

  • 1 sc in the next three stitches, then decrease.
  • Repeat from to around.

4 Save

Round 17:

  • 1 sc in the next two stitches, then decrease.
  • Repeat from to around.

Round 18:

  • 1 sc in the next stitch, then decrease.
  • Repeat from to around.

For Round 19:

  • Decrease 8 times around.
  • Slip stitch to finish the round.

Next Round:

  • Work front loop only.
  • Slip stitch and leave a long tail.

Stuffing:

  • Stuff pumpkin firmly.

Creating Pumpkin Ridges:

  • Use a needle and yarn to create pumpkin ridges by threading through from top to bottom and pulling tight.
  • Create a total of six pumpkin ridges.

Stem:

  • Make a magic ring, 7 sc into ring.
  • Rounds 2 to 4 are just 7 sc in each stitch around.
  • Round 5, work front loop only, 2 sc in each stitch.

Attaching Stem and Leaf:

  • Fasten off stem leaving a long tail to sew onto pumpkin.
  • Make a leaf by creating a magic ring and working 6 sc into the ring.
  • Chain 5, then work various stitches (slip stitch, sc, half double crochet, double crochet) across the 5 chains, then slip stitch into the initial sc to form a leaf shape.
  • Fasten off leaf, leaving a tail for attaching to the pumpkin.

Assembly:

  • Sew stem to the top of the pumpkin.
  • Attach safety eyes.
  • Sew leaf to the pumpkin near the stem.
  • Weave in any loose ends.

Finishing Touches:

  • Make any necessary adjustments to shape the pumpkin.
  • Secure all attachments and woven ends.
