Start with Waste Yarn:

  • Begin your project by casting on using some waste yarn.
  • Knit a few rows with this yarn to establish the beginning of your work.

Save

Switch to Main Color:

  • Next, change from the waste yarn to your main color yarn.
  • Continue knitting for the desired length of your scarf.

Save

End with Waste Yarn:

  • Once the scarf has reached its required length, switch back to the waste yarn.
  • Knit a few rows with this yarn before finishing your knitting.

Save

Creating the Twist:

  • To create a twist in the front of the scarf (SK scarf), fold the scarf so as to position the twist appropriately.
  • Locate the center of the panel by counting 23 stitches back from the end, which allows you to find the exact middle for proper alignment.

Save

Joining the Panels:

  • Using a crochet hook, enter the 24th stitch and then the stitch directly in front of it.
  • Also, grab the first and last stitch from the adjacent panel.
  • Pull yarn through these four stitches and chain one to secure.

Save

Continuing the Join:

  • Move to the next stitch, the one directly in front, then the next one from the second panel, and the one in front of that.
  • Pull the yarn through all the loops on the hook, which is the method for joining both sides of the panel.

Save

Removing Waste Yarn:

  • Once the sides are joined, you can remove the waste yarn.
  • If the waste yarn is needed for future projects, carefully pull it out. If not, cut it off, but be cautious not to cut into your scarf.

Save

Finishing Touches:

  • Turn the scarf around to check the neatness of the join.
  • Your scarf is now ready to wear.
