  • Baby wool yarn
  • Needle size: 10

Abbreviations:

  • K - Knit
  • P - Purl
  • Ktbl - Knit through back loop
  • K2tog - Knit two together
  • YO - Yarn over
  • sl1 - Slip one stitch

Knitting Instructions for Baby Booties

1 Save

Base:

  • Cast On: Cast on 45 stitches.
  • Row 1 (WS): Purl all stitches, K last stitch.
  • Row 2 (RS): sl1, P until last stitch, K last stitch.
  • Row 3 (WS): sl1, P all stitches.
  • Row 4 (RS): sl1, P until last stitch, K last stitch.

Repeat: Repeat Rows 4 and 5 until you have 12 rows.

Upper Part:

2 Save

  • Change Color: Attach new color wool.
  • Row 1 (WS): P all stitches, K last stitch.
  • Row 2 (RS): sl1, P1, YO, P1, Ktbl, P1, YO, P1, Ktbl, P to last stitch, K last stitch.
  • Row 3 (WS): sl1, P1, K through front loop, P1, YO, P1, K through front loop, P1, YO, P to last stitch, K last stitch.

Repeat: Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until you have 7 rows.

Top Part:

3 Save

Row 1 (RS): P all stitches, K last stitch.

  • Row 2 (WS): sl1, P all stitches.
  • Row 3 (RS): sl1, P all stitches, K last stitch.

Repeat: Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until you have 2 rows.

Decrease:

4 Save

Row 1 (RS): K18, K2tog, K9, K2tog, K18.

Sole:
