Materials

  • Yarn: Alize Lanagold Classic (100 grams/240 meters)
  • Needles: 3.5 mm knitting needles
  • Size: 36-37 (adjustable)

Instructions:

  • Cast on 50 stitches with long tail cast on method.
  • Knit 1 row in knit stitch (knit every stitch).
  • Knit next 6 rows in резиночка (2x2 rib stitch) pattern which is knit 2, purl 2.
  • Change to white yarn and knit 10 rows in knit stitch.
  • Change back to green yarn and knit 12 rows in knit stitch.

1

Heel:

Begin decreasing for the heel by knitting the first stitch, slipping the next stitch, knit 2 together, pass the slipped stitch over the stitch just knitted.

Repeat this process to the last 7 stitches. Knit the last 7 stitches.

Turn your work and purl across the row.

Repeat the above two rows (knitting the decrease row and purling a plain row) until you have 14 stitches remaining.

2

Gusset:

Increase one stitch at the beginning of each of the next 7 rows. Knit 11 rows straight.

Toe:

Begin decreasing for the toe by knitting the first stitch, slipping the next stitch, knit 2 together, pass the slipped stitch over the stitch just knitted.

Repeat this process to the last 5 stitches. Knit the last 5 stitches.

3

Turn your work and purl across the row.

Repeat the above two rows (knitting the decrease row and purling a plain row) until you have 3 stitches remaining.

Cut yarn leaving a long tail, thread it through the remaining 3 stitches, and pull tight to close. Weave in all ends.

Seaming:

  • Sew the two sides of the sock together using the mattress stitch.
  • Sew up the remaining seam at the toe using the mattress stitch.

4

Notes:

  • The video mentions that the stitch cast on with the long tail cast on method creates a more elastic edge.
  • The video also mentions that you can try the slipper on throughout the knitting process to make sure it fits the way you want it to.
  • Be sure to sew the seams together evenly so that the white stripes line up.
