Free Cute Crochet Shrimp Pattern Step By Step

From head to tail 13 cms tall

Materials:

  • Dark Pink, Light Pink Cotton Yarn
  • 2.5 mm hook
  • Tapestry Needle
  • Safety Scissors
  • 9 mm safety eyes Polyfill

Abbreviation:

  • MR: Magic Ring ch: chain
  • sc: single crochet
  • st: stitch(es) ss: slip stitch
  • f.o.: finish off
  • hdc: half double crochet
  • dc: double crochet
  • inc: increase
  • dec: decrease
  • hdc dec: half double
  • cdc: crochet decrease

Head And Body:

Rounds highlighted in Light Pink color has to be done with Light Pink Yarn and Rounds highlighted in Dark Pink has to be done with Dark Pink Yarn

  • R1: MR, 6sc = 6st
  • R2: inc x 6 = 12st
  • R3: (1sc, inc) x 6
  • R4: (2sc, inc) x 6
  • R5: (3sc, inc) x 6 = 18st 24st = 30st
  • R6: (4sc, inc) x6 = 36st
  • R(7-11): 36sc = 36st (for 5 rounds)
  • R12: 15ss, 21hdc 36st
  • R13: 2sc, 11ss, 2sc, 21hdc = 36st
  • R14: 2sc, 11ss, 2sc, 21dc = 36st
  • R15: 3sc, 9ss, 3sc, 21dc = 36st
  • R16: 5sc, 5ss, 5sc, 21dc = 36st
  • R17: 15sc, 21dc = 36st
  • R18: 15sc, 3hdc, 15dc, 3hdc = 36st Start stuffing with polyfill and continue stuffing as you go...

hide the tail
Close the hole by single crocheting 2 halves of the tail portion together as shown in pic. f.o. and hide the tail

TENTACLE (Use Dark Pink Yarn)

TENTACLE

ch 5 Starting from the 2nd chain from the hook, make 4sc.

Turn your work.

Make 13 ch. Starting from 2nd chain from the hook make 12hdc.

  • ss into next 2 stitches.

Again make 13 ch. Starting from the 2nd chain from the hook make 12hdc and ss into next st. f.o. and leave tail for sewing.

Now you have 2 tentacles.

TAIL (Use Dark Pink Yarn)

Tail

  • R1: MR, 9sc = 9 st
  • R(2-4): 9sc 9st (for 3 rounds) =
  • R5: (1sc, dec) x 3
  • R6: 6sc = 6st = 6sc sl st into next stitch

f.o. And leave a tail for sewing.

Do not stuff the tail.

LEGS (MAKE 3)

LEGS
Use Dark Pink Yarn

ch9, starting from 2nd ch from hook make 8sc.

f.o. and leave a tail for sewing.

ASSEMBLY

  1. Sew the parts of the tail side by side at the lowest part of the shrimp.
  2. Sew the antennae at round 4 of head
  3. Attach safety eyes at R8-9, one on each side of the head
  4. Sew each of the 3 legs at R14, R17, R19 5.

Use dark pink yarn to make freckles below the eyes, as shown in the picture.
