  • Yarn needle for finishing.

  • Polyester fiberfill for stuffing.
  • Scrap pink fluffy yarn for cheeks.

Abbreviations:

  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • inc = increase (2 sc in one stitch)
  • dec = invisible decrease (sc two stitches together through front loops only)

Pattern Instructions:

Round 1:

1 Save

Create a magic loop with 6 chains.

8 sc into the loop. Place a stitch marker at the end of the round for reference.

Round 2:

  • Perform 8 inc around. (Total 16 sc)

For Round 3:

  • 1 sc, 1 inc, repeat around. (Total 24 sc)

2 Save

Round 4:

  • 5 sc, 1 five-loop bobble stitch (explained in detail in the video), 11 sc, another five-loop bobble stitch, then sc to the end of the round (remaining 6 sc).

Round 5:

  • Sc around with 24 sc.

For Round 6:

  • 5 sc, 1 inc, four times around. (Total 28 sc)

Round 7:

  • Sc around with 28 sc.

Round 8:

  • 6 sc, 1 inc, four times around. (Total 32 sc)

For Round 9:

  • 4-loop bobble stitch for the hands: 10 sc, bobble, 6 sc, bobble, and then sc to end of round.

Round 10:

  • 6 sc, 1 inc, four times around. (Total 36 sc)

Round 11:

  • 13 sc, 4-loop bobble stitch for the feet, 9 sc, another 4-loop bobble stitch, sc to end of the round.

3 Save

Decrease Rounds (Shaping the Frog):

Round 12:

  • Dec for every 2 sc all around. (Ending with 24 sc)

For Round 13:

  • Dec for every 2 sc all around. (Ending with 18 sc)

Round 14:

  • Dec for every 2 sc all around until you have 12 sc.

4 Save

Finishing:

  • Cut yarn, leaving a long tail.
  • With a yarn needle, thread through front loops of remaining sc and pull to close the hole.
  • Weave the end into the body to hide.
  • Stuff the body firmly with polyester fiberfill before fully closing.
  • Add safety eyes or glue eyes in place.
