Materials Needed:

  • 100% Cotton Yarn (Peaches & Creme brand recommended)
  • H (5 mm) Crochet Hook
  • Yarn Needle
  • Scissors

Pattern Overview:

  • This pattern is for a 40 oz water bottle holder.
  • The holder is crocheted in rounds starting from the base.
  • Techniques include magic ring, double crochet (dc), increase (inc), working in back loops only, single crochet (sc), and foundation single crochet (fsc) for the handle.

Pattern Instructions:

1 Save

Starting the Base:

Magic Ring:

  • Start with a magic ring. Alternatively, you can chain 3 and work into the first chain to begin your round.
  • Chain 3 (this acts as your first dc but doesn't count as a stitch here).
  • Make 10 dc into the magic ring or starting chain. Tighten the ring and join with a slip stitch to the first dc.

First Increasing Round:

  • Chain 2 (counts as your first dc here).
  • Make 2 dc in each stitch around (20 dc total).
  • Join with a slip stitch to the top of the initial chain 2.

2 Save

Second Increasing Round:

  • Chain 2 (counts as your first dc here).
  • 1 dc in the first stitch, 2 dc in the next stitch. Repeat - around (30 dc total).
  • Join with a slip stitch to the top of the initial chain 2.

Forming the Ridge:

  • Chain 2.
  • Working in the back loops only, dc in each stitch around (30 dc total).
  • This creates a ridge forming the base of the holder.

3 Save

Body of the Holder:

  • For rounds 5 to 18, work 30 dc in each round without increasing, slip stitching at the end of each round and chaining 2 to start the new round.

Finishing Round:

  • After round 18, chain 1.
  • Sc in each stitch around (30 sc total).
  • Join with a slip stitch to the first sc.

Handle Construction:

  • Chain 2. Into the second chain from the hook, perform a foundation single crochet (fsc) until you have 40 fsc.
  • Attach the end of the handle to the opposite side of the holder with a slip stitch to create the handle.

4 Save

Optional:

  • Work back across the handle with another row of sc or dc, depending on your preference.

Finishing Touches:

  • Weave in all the ends using the yarn needle.
  • Fit the holder onto your water bottle to ensure a proper fit.
