Strap:

- Begin decreases on the WS: P2, K1, K2tog, K1, repeat from * to * to reduce stitches.
- On the RS, perform the cable twist with a decreased number of stitches in the purl sections as per the pattern.
- Continue cable twists and purl sections (with the purl section progressively narrowing) until you have 31 stitches remaining.
- Knit a strap 50 cm long, maintaining the cable twists and purl pattern (which should now be P1).
- BO 15 stitches starting the next RS row; continue in pattern until end of row.
Joining and Finishing:
- Fold the strap in half and join the open ends by sewing or grafting them together, ensuring the cable pattern aligns.
- Cut a yarn tail of about 25 cm and use a tapestry needle to sew the end of the strap to the side of the turban using an invisible seam technique or by simply securing it in a visually appealing manner.
- Weave in all loose ends for a neat finish.
You should have a completed turban with a cabled design and a strap to secure it around the head. The sizing and gauge may vary depending on the yarn and needle size used, so make sure to measure the circumference of the head that the turban is intended for and adjust accordingly.
