Materials Needed:

  • Coton yarn suitable for amigurumi (various colors)
  • 3 mm crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Fluffy yarn (for the border)
  • Darning needle

Square Pattern:

1

Foundation:

  • Start with a magic ring.
  • Chain 3 (counts as the first double crochet).
  • Make 2 double crochets into the ring. This forms your first cluster.
  • Chain 2, then make 3 double crochets in the ring, forming the second cluster.
  • Repeat step 4 twice more, creating a total of four clusters separated by two chains each.
  • Pull the magic ring tight, closing the circle.
  • Slip stitch into the top of the beginning chain-3 to close the round.

2

Next Rounds:

  • Change color as desired for each round.
  • In each corner space, make 2 chains between clusters.
  • In each side space, make 1 chain between clusters.
  • Continue increasing each round by making corners in corner spaces and sides in side spaces.

Final Round:

  • With white yarn, create a round of single crochet stitches, making 3 single stitches in the corner spaces and 1 in between the clusters from the previous round.

Triangle Pattern:

3

Foundation:

  • Start with a magic ring.
  • Chain 4 (counts as the first triple crochet).
  • Make 3 double crochets in the ring.
  • Chain 2 for the corner space, then make another 3 double crochets in the ring.
  • Close with a triple crochet to finish the round.

Next Rounds:

4

  • Change color as desired, similar to the square pattern, starting each round with a triple crochet in one of the spaces from the previous round.
  • In corner spaces, make 3 double crochets, chain 2, and 3 more double crochets.
  • Increase the size with each round by working into the side and corner spaces.

Final Round:

  • With white yarn, work a round of single crochet stitches, placing 3 single crochets in the corner spaces and 1 in between the clusters.

Bandana Assembly:

5 a

  • To create the bandana, join three squares and three triangles, alternating them, with the point of each triangle facing outwards.
  • Sew the pieces together using a darning needle and matching yarn.
  • Attach a rope or a chain of crochets on the top corners for tying.

Border and Finishing:

  • With fluffy yarn, crochet a border around the entire bandana for a "snow effect."
  • Secure all yarn ends with a darning needle, weaving in the ends for a clean finish.

Additional Notes:

  • Remember to block your crochet pieces for a neat finish, especially if the bandana is intended as a gift.
  • Consider using holiday colors or adding embellishments like beads or appliqués for a festive touch.
