Sewing to head.

Arms (x 2)

Stuff and close by crocheting sc through both layers.

Leave a tail for sewing to body.

Belly

Ch 7 (always start in second ch from hook)

  • Row 1: 6 sc, ch 1, turn [6]
  • Row 2 -> Row 8: 6 sc, ch 1, turn [6]
  • Row 9:2 sc, dec, 2 sc, ch 1, turn [5]
  • Row 10: 5 sc, ch 1, turn [5]

Do not turn. Continue crocheting sc all around to make a clean border. Keep a tail for sewing to body.

Acorn

In brown

  • RND 4: 12 sc [12]

Change colour to beige

  • RND 5: in back loops - (2 sc, dec)* [9]
  • RND 6 & RND 7:9 sc [9]
  • RND 8: (1 sc, dec)* [6]

Stuff. Fasten off and weave in ends.>

Using brown thread, make slip stitches in the front loops of RND 5.

Fix the arms with hot glue or sew.

Legs (x 2)

  • RND 1: MR + 6 sc [6]
  • RND 2: (1 sc, inc)* [9]
  • RND 3 -> RND 8:9 sc [9]

Stuff firmly.

  • RND 9:3 sc, (inc x 3), 3 sc [12]
  • RND 10:3 sc, (inc x 6), 3 sc [18]
  • RND 11 -> RND 13: 18 sc [18]
  • RND 14: (1 sc, dec)* [12]
  • RND 15: 6 x dec [6]

Stuff lightly.

Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

Bring out the thread to the inside of the leg (picture 1).

Tail

Ch 7 (start in second chain from hook. You will work around the chain)

  • RND 1:5 sc, 3 sc in same stitch, 5 sc, 3 sc in last stitch [16]
  • Work all the rounds in back loops.
  • RND 2: 7 sc, inc, 7 sc, inc [18]
  • RND 3: (2 sc, inc)* [24]
  • RND 4 (3 sc, inc)* [30]
  • RND 5-> RND 8:30 sc [30]

Decreases will be done in back loops.

  • RND 9: (8 sc, dec)* [27]RND 10->
  • RND 13: 27 sc [27]
  • RND 14: (7 sc, dec)* [24]
  • RND 15:24 sc [24]
  • RND 16: (6 sc, dec)* [21]
  • RND 17 & RND 18:21 sc [21]
  • RND 19: (5 sc, dec)* [18]
  • RND 20-> RND 22: 18 sc [18]

Now turn and work in the front loops until the top of the tail (tutorial 2). Repeat: (Ch 6, skip a stitch, sl st in next stitch)

Bring out the thread in the center of the tail and sew to the back of the body (picture 2). Close the hole while sewing to body.
