Crochet Heart Vines

Crochet Heart Vines Pattern

 Materials:

  • Yarn of your choice (the tutorial mentions using a dark green, loops and threads brand).
  • 5 mm crochet hook.

Abbreviations:

  • Slip Stitch (sl st)
  • Chain (ch)
  • Single Crochet (sc)
  • Double Crochet (dc)
  • Treble Crochet (tr)

Pattern Instructions:

1

Starting the Heart:

  • Create a Slip Stitch and chain 5 (ch 5).
  • Treble Crochet (tr) in the first chain by yarning over twice before inserting the hook. Make sure to go into the back bump and the outermost loop for a better fit. Complete the treble crochet by yarning over and pulling through two loops three times.
  • In the same space, make two more treble crochets, for a total of three.
  • Make three double crochets (dc) in the same space. Since it might be tight, gently tug on the chain to create more space if needed.
  • Chain 1 (ch 1), then do a treble crochet (tr), chain one (ch 1), and then prepare to mirror the pattern on the other side.

2

Mirroring the Pattern:

  • Perform three double crochets (dc) in the same space.
  • Follow with three treble crochets (tr).
  • To close off this section, chain 3 and slip stitch into the center. Then, make another slip stitch in the back for shaping.

3

Round Two:

  • Begin in the chain space with three single crochets (sc).
  • Over the next two stitches, place two double crochets in each, making four double crochets in total.
  • Single crochet (sc) your way down to the chain space, single crochet in the chain space, then single crochet over the triple crochet.
  • Chain 1. On the side loops of the single crochet, insert, yarn over, and pull through both loops and the chain loop.
  • Repeat the single crochet sequence on the other side, including the increases over the last two stitches.
  • In the chain space, make three more single crochets.
  • Slip stitch into the center, make a chain in the back for ease and shaping.

4

Completing the Heart:

  • Chain 13-14 to create your desired length for the next section of the pattern.
  • To start the next part of the heart, skip 4 chains and in the fifth chain, commence the pattern as you did the beginning (three trebles, chain, three doubles, etc.), mirroring both sides.
  • Finish with a border of single crochets, and follow the pattern as needed for additional hearts.

5

Additional Notes:

  • The project is adjustable based on the yarn color and thickness as desired.
  • The tutorial suggests experimenting with different yarns for varied outcomes.
