  • Red Yarn (RY)
  • Beige or White Yarn (BWY)
  • Green Yarn (GY)

Needles and Tools

  • Circular Knitting Needle, Size 4 (CN4)
  • Scissors (Sc)
  • Hook (H)
  • Needle (N)

Pattern Abbreviations

  • Sts - Stitches
  • RY - Red Yarn
  • BWY - Beige or White Yarn
  • GY - Green Yarn
  • CN4 - Circular Knitting Needle, Size 4
  • Sc - Scissors
  • H - Hook
  • N - Needle
  • P1 - Purl One Stitch
  • K1 - Knit One Stitch

Instructions

Save

Setup

  • Gather all materials listed above.
  • Cast on 78 stitches (sts) onto CN4.

Knitting Process

After casting on, place a marker on the right needle to begin your project.

  • Choose and knit with the stitch you prefer. Although a purl stitch is suggested, you may use any stitch you like.

Repeat the following row pattern until the hat reaches the desired length:

Knit one purl stitch (P1), then one knit stitch (K1), repeat (P1, K1) to the end of the row.

  • Remember to place the marker on the right needle to mark the beginning of each new row.

Completion

Save

Once the hat has reached the desired length, use N to close the hat and finish your work.

  • Trim any excess yarn with Sc.
