Crochet Tiny Gator Pattern Save

Materials Needed:

  • 5 mm crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Green yarn (or color of choice)
  • Stuffing
  • 10 mm safety eyes
  • Sewing needle
  • Stitch marker

Crochet Pattern:

1 Save

Round 1:

  • Start with a magic ring.
  • Tighten the ring and work 6 single crochets (sc) into the ring.
  • Place a stitch marker on the last sc to mark the end of the round.

Round 2:

  • Work over the tail.
  • Increase in the first stitch (2 sc in the same stitch).
  • Puff stitch in the next stitch, followed by a single crochet in the same stitch.
    To do a puff stitch: Yarn over, insert hook into the stitch, pull up a loop, repeat 3 more times until you have 7 loops on your hook, yarn over and pull through all loops.
  • Repeat the pattern of increase then puff stitch + single crochet.
  • Increase in the next stitch.

2 Save

  • Finish with 1 single crochet in the final stitch.
    Total stitches: 11

After Round 3-4:

  • 1 sc in each stitch around.

Round 5:

  • Increase in the first stitch, then 1 sc in each of the next 10 stitches.

For Round 6:

  • 1 sc in the first stitch, increase in the second stitch, then 10 sc.

3 Save

Round 7:

  • 6 sc, then complete 4 increases (2 sc in each of the next 4 stitches), followed by 3 more sc. This starts to shape the Gator's head.

Round 8:

  • 8 sc, increase, 3 sc, increase, then 3 sc.

In Round 9:

  • A round of sc.

Round 10:

  • 8 sc, followed by a decrease. Use invisible decrease if preferred, then 3 sc, another decrease, finish with 4 sc.

4 Save

Round 11-32:

  • Continue as per the pattern provided in your message, which includes creating additional body parts like legs, and adding details like eyes, while continuously shaping the alligator with increases, decreases, and puff stitches.

Installing Safety Eyes:

  • After completing the head, install the 10 mm safety eyes between rounds 8 and 9, approximately 8 stitches apart.

Finishing Touches:

  • Finish off by closing the tail with a drawstring closure, sewing up any openings, and ensuring the stuffing is adequately distributed.
