  • Chenille yarn in white and orange
  • 4.5 mm crochet hook
  • Black embroidery floss for eyebrows
  • Yarn needle
  • Black safety eyes
  • Polyester fiberfill stuffing

  • Magic ring
  • Single crochet (sc)
  • Half double crochet (hdc)
  • Chain (ch)
  • Increase (two sc in the same stitch)

Pattern Overview:

Head and Body (white yarn):

Head Start: Magic ring with 6 sc (tighten ring, place stitch marker).

  • Round 2: 6 increases (12 sc).
  • Round 3: [1 sc, increase] x6 (18 sc).
  • Round 4: [2 sc, increase] x6 (24 sc).
  • Round 5-6: 24 sc each.
  • Round 7: [3 sc, increase] x6 (30 sc).
  • Round 8-9: 30 sc each.
  • Round 10: [3 sc, invisible decrease] x6 (24 sc).
  • Round 11: [2 sc, invisible decrease] x6 (18 sc).
  • Round 12: [1 sc, invisible decrease] x6 (12 sc). Fill the head now and attach safety eyes between rounds 6 and 7, 4 stitches apart.
  • Round 13-19: 10 sc in each round.
  • Round 20-26: Gradually increase stitches to 30 sc, then hold at 30 sc for several rounds, then decrease back to 12 sc by round 29. Fill body and slightly fill the neck for flexibility.
  • Round 30: 6 invisible decreases (6 sc). Finish off and close the hole.

Beak (orange yarn):

  1. Round 2: [1 sc, increase] x3 (9 sc).
  2. Round 3: [2 sc, increase] x3 (12 sc).
  3. Round 4: 12 sc. Finish off and sew to face.

Wings (white yarn):

Row 2-7: Increase stitches to 4 sc by row 3, maintain 4 sc until row 6, perform 2 invisible decreases in row 7. Repeat for the second wing. Sew wings to the body.

Feet (orange yarn):

  1. Start: Magic ring with 6 sc.
  2. Round 2: [1 sc, increase] x3 (9 sc).
  3. Round 3: 9 sc.
  4. Round 4: [2 sc, increase] x3 (12 sc).
  5. Round 5: Fold edges together, crochet them with 2 hdc in one stitch, sl st, 2 hdc in next stitch, sl st, another 2 hdc in the last stitch. Finish off. Repeat for the second foot and sew to the body.

Fuzzy Hair (medium weight yarn):

  1. Cut strands of yarn, tie them to the top of the head, and fray them for a fuzzy look.

Eyebrows (black embroidery floss):

  1. Use the floss to stitch eyebrows above the eyes.
