  • Chain one to secure the magic ring.

Round 1:

  • Work 8 single crochets into the magic circle.

After Round 3:

  • Chain one.
  • Alternate between one single crochet in the next stitch and two single crochets in the following stitch around the circle.
  • Slip stitch to join (24 single crochets total).

Round 4:

  • Chain one.
  • Work one single crochet in each stitch around.
  • Slip stitch to join.

Finishing the Base:

  • Chain one and cut the yarn.
  • Repeat steps to create a second circle but do not cut the yarn on the second circle as it will be used to join both pieces.

Joining the Circles:

  • Place both circles wrong sides together.
  • Start joining from any stitch, making sure to insert the hook through the back loop of the front circle and both loops of the back circle.
  • Work single crochets around, leaving a small gap to add stuffing.
  • Add stuffing and then complete the seam.
  • Slip stitch to join and cut the yarn.

Creating the Petals:

Switch to light yellow yarn for the first layer of petals:

  • Attach yarn to any back loop of the joined circles.
  • Chain two, work two double crochets into the same loop, chain three, work a picot (slip stitch in the third chain from the hook), work two more double crochets into the same loop, chain two, and slip stitch in the next loop. Repeat around the circle.
  • Slip stitch to join once all petals are made. Cut the yarn.

For the second layer of petals, use darker yellow yarn:

  • Attach behind the first layer to make the second layer stand out between the petals of the first layer.
  • Repeat the petal pattern as above but ensure these are positioned between the petals of the first layer.

Finishing Touches:

Attach a keyring:

  • Chain 25, then connect the end with a slip stitch to form a loop.
  • Attach the keyring to the loop.
  • Hide all yarn ends within the work for a neat finish.
