  • Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver (Color: Carrot Orange)
  • Crochet Hook: Size H
  • Other: Black yarn for embroidery, tapestry needle

Pattern

Base (Magic Ring)

Round 1:

2 Save

  • Make a magic ring.
  • Chain 1.
  • Make 10 single crochets in the ring.
  • Pull the ring tight.
  • Join to the first single crochet with a slip stitch.

For Round 2:

3 Save

  • Chain 1.
  • Make 2 single crochets in each stitch around (20 single crochets total).
  • Join to the first single crochet with a slip stitch.

Round 3:

  • Chain 1.
  • Single crochet in each stitch around (20 single crochets total).
  • Join with a slip stitch.

Star Points

4 Save

Round 4 (Star Points):

Chain 8.

Starting from the second chain from the hook:

  • Single crochet in the first chain.
  • Half double crochet in the next three chains.
  • Double crochet in the last three chains.

Skip the next three stitches of the base round.

Join with a slip stitch to the fourth stitch of the base.

Repeat this process around the circle to form each star point (5 points total).

Edging and Detail

1 Save

Round 5 (Edging of Points):

  • Chain 1.
  • Single crochet around all the edges of the star points.
  • Make 3 single crochets in each tip of the star points to form sharp ends.
  • Slip stitch to join each round.

Round 6:

  • Repeat similar to round 5, but make only 2 single crochets in the tips of the points for a neater finish.
