Round 2: Increase

  1. Work over the tail for this round if you wish to hide it.

Round 3: Single Crochet

2 Save

  1. Single crochet into each stitch around (16 sc).

For Round 4-6: Repeat Round 3

  1. Continue working as in Round 3 for three more rounds, single crocheting into each stitch around (16 sc each round).
  2. Remember to move your stitch marker up each round.

Round 7: Decrease (Back Loop Only)

  1. Perform a decrease by crocheting two stitches together, back loop only, all around your work.
  2. You should have a total of eight stitches after this round.
  3. Cut your yarn and pull the tail through the last loop on your hook.

Attaching Tentacles:

3 Save

  1. Work into the front loops left from the previous round.
  2. Insert the hook into the first front loop, grab your yarn and chain five.
  3. Increase into the second chain from hook.
  4. Increase into the next two chains.
  5. Slip stitch into the last chain.
  6. Give the tentacle a twist to form it properly.
  7. Slip stitch into the next two front loops on the body of the octopus.
  8. Repeat this process: Chain five, increase into the second chain from the hook, increase into the next two chains, and slip stitch into your last chain. Then, slip stitch into the next two front loops on the body of the octopus.
  9. Continue this until you have eight tentacles.

After completing all tentacles:

4 Save

  1. Slip stitch into the front loop where your stitch marker is and repeat into the first loop where you started.
  2. Snip the yarn, pull the tail through, tie both tails together, and pull them into the body of the octopus.

Finishing Touches:

  2. Stuffing: Add stuffing to the octopus, ensuring it's shaped smoothly.
  3. Closing: Close the opening of the octopus and hide any remaining tails inside the body.
  4. Optional Accessory: Attach a string and clip if desired.
