Materials:

  • 1.8mm crochet hook
  • 4 ply cotton yarn in skin color and additional colors for clothing
  • Stuffing material

Head:

1 Save

Magic Ring (MR) with 6 single crochet (sc) = 6. Do a slip stitch (sl st) to close the round.

  1. Round 2 (R2): 6 increases (inc) = 12. (2 sc in one stitch, repeat around)
  2. R3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 = 18.
  3. R4: (1 sc, inc, 1 sc) x 6 = 24.
  4. R5: (3 sc, inc) x 6 = 30.
  5. R6: (2 sc, inc, 2 sc) x 6 = 36.
  6. R7: (5 sc, inc) x 6 = 42.
  7. R8 - R15: sc 42 = 42.
  8. R16: (5 sc, decrease (dec)) x 6 = 36.
  9. R17: (2 sc, dec, 2 sc) x 6 = 30.
  10. R18: Begin to stuff the head. (3 sc, dec) x 6 = 24.
  11. R19: Continue stuffing. (1 sc, dec, 1 sc) x 6 = 18.
  12. R20: (1 sc, dec) x 6 = 12.
  13. R21: 6 decrease (A) = 6.

Hands (Make 2):

  1. MR with 6 sc = 6. Slip stitch to close.
  2. R2: sc 6. Change color if you like.
  3. R3: Back loop only (BLO) 6 sc = 6.
  4. R4 - R5: sc 6 = 6. Repeat these steps to make the second hand.

Legs and Body:

2 Save

MR with 6 sc = 6. Slip stitch to close. Change color for the shoes.

  1. R2: (2 sc, inc) x 2 = 8.
  2. R3: sc 8 = 8. Repeat for the second leg but do not cut the yarn on the second leg.
  3. Continue with 2 chain (ch) stitches to link to the first leg, then slip stitch on the first leg.
  4. R4 - R6: sc 20 = 20.
  5. R7: 3 sc, dec, 8 sc, dec, 5 sc = 18.
  6. R8: sc 18 = 18.
  7. R9: 3 sc, dec, 7 sc, dec, 4 sc = 16.
  8. R10: Add arms by attaching them with 2 sc, 6 sc in the middle, then attach the second arm, ending the round with 4 sc = 16.
  9. R11: (dec, 1 sc) x 2, 3 dec, 1 sc, dec, 1 sc, 2 dec = 12. Leave a long tail for sewing.

Ears (Make 2):

MR with 6 sc. Do not slip stitch; leave it open = 6.

Graduation Hat:

  1. MR with 8 sc = 8. Slip stitch to close.
  2. R2: 8 inc = 16.
  3. R3: (1 sc, inc) x 8 = 24.
  4. R4: BLO 24 sc = 24.
  5. R5: sc 24 = 24. Leave a long tail for sewing.

Hat Brim:

3 Save

On the Front Loop Only (FLO): (5 sc, 3 sc in same stitch) x 4 = 32.

  1. R2: 6 sc, (1 sc, half double crochet (hdc), 1 sc), [7 sc, (1 sc, hdc, 1 sc)] * 3, 1 sc = 40.

Collar:

  1. Chain (ch) 18. Start from the 2nd st from the hook: 2 sc, 3 hdc, 3 double crochet (dc), ch 3, slip stitch, ch 3, 3 dc, 3 hdc, 2 sc. Slip stitch to finish.

This project will yield a short-haired little boy style graduation doll approximately 9cm tall.
