Crochet Cheeky Donut Pattern Save

Materials:

  • Chenille Home Slim - Size 6 Yarn (White and Seed Pearl)
  • Sweet Snuggles Light - Size 6 Yarn
  • Paintbox Simply Aran - Size 4 Yarn (Bubblegum Pink)
  • 6.0 mm crochet hook
  • 3.0 mm crochet hook
  • Black Thread or Embroidery Floss
  • 12 mm Safety Eyes
  • Scissors
  • Yarn Needle
  • Stitch Marker
  • Polyester Fiberfill

Yarns:

  • Chenille or similar in white (size 6 yarn), for the icing.
  • A beigey color like Seed Pearl for the donut (size 6 yarn).
  • Pink color (size 4 yarn) for the hearts, something like Paintbox Simply Aran in Bubblegum Pink color 250.

Crochet Threads:

  • Black crochet thread or embroidery floss for the mouth (size 3/10 recommended).

Crochet Hooks:

  • 6.0 mm hook for the donut and icing.
  • 3.0 mm hook for the hearts.

Others:

  • 12 mm safety eyes.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle big enough for the yarn.
  • Stitch marker.
  • Polyester fiberfill for stuffing.

Little Hearts (Make 8):

1 Save

Magic Circle:

  • Make a magic circle with 5 single crochets (sc) inside.

1st Heart Half:

  • In the first sc, slip stitch, then in the same stitch, half double crochet (hdc), double crochet (dc), and hdc again.

Straight Middle:

  • Single crochet in the next stitch, then do an increase (2 sc in one stitch) in the following stitch.

2nd Heart Half:

  • Repeat the first half steps in reverse on the next stitches. End with an invisible finish and leave a tail for sewing.

Donut Base:

2 Save

Start:

  • With the beigey color yarn and a 6.0 mm hook, chain 18 and join to form a circle.

Round 1:

  • Single crochet around, adding increases (two single crochets in one stitch) periodically to achieve a total of 24 stitches.

Rounds 2-5:

  • Continue increasing each round following the pattern: One more sc between each increase compared to the previous round, ending round 5 with 48 stitches.

For Rounds 6-9:

  • Single crochet around without increase (48 stitches) for four rounds.

3 Save

Finish:

  • Cut the yarn, pull through, and perform an invisible finish.

Icing:

  • Repeat the same steps as the donut base using white yarn.

Assembly:

Sewing:

  • With the wrong sides facing out, sew the small holes together first.

4 Save

Face:

  • Attach the safety eyes and sew the mouth with black thread.

Final Sewing:

  • With right sides out, position the icing over the donut base. Start sewing together, stuffing as you go. Ensure to distribute the stuffing evenly.

Adding Hearts:

  • Sew or glue the little hearts randomly on the top to resemble heart sprinkles.

Final Touches:

  • Give your cheeky donut a nice squishy shape by adjusting the stuffing as needed. Trim any excess yarn from sewing the hearts and you're done!
