Crochet Aka Flower Top
Materials:
- Cotton yarn (8x4)
- Crochet hook, 4mm (even though it's not the suggested size for this type of yarn)
- Scissors
Creating the Sleeve (Flower Pattern):
- Chain 77 stitches to start.
- Add two extra chains to help start the first row.
- Begin the first row with half double crochets all the way through, ending with 77 stitches.
- Chain two and turn your work for row two.
For Row Two:
- Start with three double crochets.
- Chain eight, skip eight stitches at the bottom, and do five single crochets.
- Chain eight again, skip eight, and do four double crochets to create half a flower.
- Continue repeating the pattern (chain eight, skip eight, five single crochets, chain eight, and four double crochets) until the end of the row.
Row Three:
- Chain two, turn your work.
- Start with a double crochet, chain one, and skip one stitch.
- Perform three double crochets in the big gap, followed by chaining six.
- Do three single crochets in the middle of the five single crochets from the previous row.
- Continue the pattern (chain six, three double crochets in one big gap, and so on) until the end of the row.
Row Four:
- Chain three, turn your work, and begin with a triple crochet.
- Chain four, perform a double crochet on the last double crochet from the previous row, and then do three double crochets in the next big gap.
- Chain four and do a triple crochet in the middle of single crochets.
- Continue the pattern (chain four, three double crochets in the big gap, one double crochet after the gap, etc.) until the end of the row.
- Continue following the pattern outlined in the video to add more rows and create the full flower pattern.
Connecting the Panels:
- Lay out all panels (sleeves, front, and back) on the floor.
- Connect the front and back panels at the shoulder, leaving about two flowers open for the neck area.
- Connect the sleeves at the sides, ensuring to align the center correctly.
- Use a simple slip stitch to join the parts.
