Materials:

  • White yarn for the flowers

Starting:

1 Save

Magic Ring:

  • Make a double knot on your finger, similar to a magic ring but tighter. Hold the yarn with your left hand to control the tension.

Round 1:

Six Single Crochet:

  • Work six single crochet (sc) stitches into the magic ring. The first one is slightly different. After completing six sc, you'll close the circle by pulling the tail through to tighten.

Round 2:

Increase:

  • Chain one (ch 1) to start round two. This ch does not count as a stitch. In this round, you'll make an increase by working two single crochet stitches in each stitch around, resulting in 12 stitches.

For Round 3:

Pattern Repeat:

  • Chain one to start. Work one single crochet, then increase in the next stitch (two single crochets in the same stitch), repeating this pattern around for a total of 18 stitches.

Rounds 4 to 6:

  • For these rounds, you simply work one single crochet in each stitch around without increasing, maintaining the stitch count at 18.

After Round 7:

Decreasing:

  • Chain one to start. Work one single crochet, then proceed with a decrease by combining the next two stitches into one (invisible decrease) across. This will reduce your stitch count.

Round 8 (Flower Petals):

4 Save

Petals Formation:

  • Work 6 petals. Each petal is made in two stitches. In the first stitch, work a single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet. In the next stitch, work a double crochet, half double crochet, and single crochet to form the first petal. Repeat this pattern five more times to create a total of six petals. Close the round with a slip stitch and cut the yarn.

Leaf Pattern:

  • Start with a slip knot, then chain 31.
  • Beginning from the second chain from the hook, work one single crochet.
  • In the next stitch, work one half double crochet.
  • Continue with 23 double crochets along the chain.
  • With the last five chains, work two half double crochets, two single crochets, and finish the tip of the leaf with three single crochets in the last chain.

5 Save

  • Mirror the pattern on the opposite side of the chain to complete the leaf shape.
  • Use a 30cm piece of wire to give the leaf support, sewing or crocheting it into the edge for stability.

Assembly:

  • For each bunch of flowers, you will need one leaf and five lilies. Assemble the components as you prefer for your bouquet or project.
