Crochet Bow & Hair Clip
Materials Needed:
- Yarn of your choice
- Suitable hook size for your yarn (the example uses Janet Adore yarn with a 3mm crochet hook)
- Needle for stitching
- Scissors
Bow Pattern:
Body of the Bow
- Start with a slip knot.
- Chain 25.
- Skip the first chain; in the second chain, work a single crochet.
- Work a half double crochet into each of the next two chain spaces.
- Work a double crochet into each of the following two chain spaces.
- Work a treble crochet into each of the next two chain spaces.
- Work a double crochet into each of the next two chain spaces.
- Work a half double crochet into each of the next two chain spaces.
- In the next two chain spaces, work a slip stitch each.
- Mirror the pattern on the next side: start with two half double crochets and end with two slip stitches, creating a symmetrical shape.
- In the last chain space, work three single crochets.
Center of the Bow:
- Create another slip knot with your yarn.
- Chain 15.
- Skip one chain and in the second chain, work a single crochet.
- Follow the established pattern: half double crochet, double crochet, treble crochet, double crochet, half double crochet, and single crochet into the consecutive chain spaces.
- Work a slip stitch into the next space.
- Continue the pattern on the next side.
- In the last chain space, work two single crochets, then work a slip stitch into the first single crochet of this section.
Finishing the Bow:
- Chain one, leave a long tail of yarn for sewing, and cut the yarn.
- Use a needle threaded with the long tail to stitch the sides of the bow securely.
- Place the center piece under the bow, wrap the yarn around it about six times, and tie off securely at the back.
Attaching to a Clip (Optional):
- To use the bow as a hair accessory, you can attach it to a hair clip with the remaining yarn or by using hot glue or another strong adhesive.
