With clear instructions, it teaches you to transform yarn into a cozy robe. It's ideal for anyone, whether you're a beginner or have more experience. This tutorial is like a helpful companion in creating a piece that's uniquely yours to enjoy.

Materials Needed:

  • Acrylic yarn in about 10 or 7 different colors (subtle colors like burnt oranges, peaceful lavender purple, teal green, dark green, a nice white that is borderline creamish, and a mustard yellow)
  • 5.0 mm crochet hook
  • Scissors

Panel Creation:

Front Panels (Create 2):

  • Start with 38 stitches wide for each panel.
  • Work in chosen stitch pattern, switching colors as desired to create a striped effect.
  • Each stripe doesn’t have to be uniform; switch colors intuitively.
  • End each front panel at the same length for symmetry, approximately 50 rows (adjust based on yarn stretch).

Back Panel:

  • Start with 38 stitches for one side section, another 38 stitches for the other side section, and an additional 12 stitches in the middle for the neck area, totaling to 88 stitches.
  • Follow the same stitch pattern and color-changing technique as the front panels.

Sleeve (Create 2):

  • Start with 73 stitches for each sleeve.
  • Continue the stripe pattern to match the body of the robe.
  • Ensure both sleeves are symmetrical in stitch count and length.

Save

Hood:

  • From the back panel, start with 11 stitches and extend those stitches upwards into a panel.
  • Split the additional 12 stitches at the back for the neck area.
  • Create two equal panels representing each side of the hood.
  • Once at the desired height, stitch panels together at the top to form the hood; make sure to work in a straight line for uniformity.

Save

Robe String (Optional):

  • Create a string using 8 stitches wide and switch colors along the length to match the robe theme.
  • Create a pattern along the string for added personality, adjusting the length of color sections as desired.

Assembly:

  • Sew or crochet the panels together. This includes attaching sleeves to the body of the robe.
  • If necessary, use a separate yarn piece to create loops along the sides of the robe to hold the belt in place.
  • Attach the hood by aligning it with the neck area and attaching it securely.

Finishing:

  • Add any desired borders or edgings.
  • Weave in all ends for a clean finish.
  • Make final adjustments to fit and symmetry.
