Easy To Crochet Oddish Amigurumi Pattern

Aug 26, 2024 · Leave a Comment

The Crochet Oddish Amigurumi Pattern is a fun way to make a cute toy that looks like Oddish, a little blue Pokemon with green leaves on its head. You use soft blue and green yarn and a crochet hook to make the body and leaves. It starts with a round shape for the body, and you use special stitches to make its feet. Little eyes are added to give it a face.

Then you crochet some leaves and attach them to the top. If you like, you can even place your crochet Oddish in a small clay pot to make it look like a real plant sitting happily on your shelf. It's a cozy and enjoyable craft project for anyone who loves Pokémon or cute handmade things.

Materials Needed:

  • Worsted weight yarn in blue and green.
  • 4mm crochet hook.
  • Stitch markers, yarn, and tapestry needles.
  • Scissors and stuffing.
  • 12 mm painted safety eyes.
  • Optional: 2-inch terracotta pot for a faux plant effect.

Body:

Start with Blue Yarn

  • Round 1: Form a magic ring and place 6 single crochet (sc) inside. Pull ring tight.
  • Round 2: Increase (2 sc in each stitch around) to 12 stitches.
  • Round 3: 1 sc in the first stitch, increase in the next repeat around for a total of 18 stitches.
  • Round 4: 1 sc in the next 2 stitches, increase in the 3rd stitch repeat around to 24 stitches.
  • Rounds 5-9: 1 sc in each stitch around (24 stitches).

Note: Make sure the right side of the work is facing out before starting decreases.

1

Feet and Decrease

Round 10: 1 sc in the next 2 stitches, then decrease repeat around to 18 stitches.

Round 11: Add the feet with a pattern of 1 sc, decrease, and then make a 5 double crochet Bobble Stitch for each foot, followed by decreases and standard stitches as described in the video.

Final Decreases

Round 12: Decrease in each stitch around for a total of 6 stitches. Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

3

Eyes:

  • Attach the safety eyes between Rounds 7 and 8, making sure they are aligned with the feet.

Filling:

  • Stuff the body firmly before closing off the last round.

2

Leaves (Make 3):

With Green Yarn:

  • Start: Chain 6, starting in the second chain from the hook, slip stitch, then a single crochet, half double crochet, and so on as detailed, creating a leaf shape.

Leaf Detailing:

  • Finish each leaf with slip stitches down the middle for the vein detail.
  • Leave a long tail on each leaf for sewing onto the body.

4

Assembly:

  • Sew the leaves to the top of Oddish's body, arranging them around the magic ring center. Utilize the tails for sewing and secure firmly.

Optional Potting:

  • If desired, place your finished Oddish into the terracotta pot to mimic a potted plant.

Additional Tips:

Make sure to adjust the hook size and pot size if you're using a different yarn weight.

This pattern is a quaint and rewarding project, perfect for Pokémon fans or those looking to add a cute, nerdy touch to their collection or market table. Enjoy crafting your own little Oddish Amigurumi!
