Making a crochet heart garland is a delightful project that brings warmth and charm to any space. Perfect for decorations, gifts, or just a touch of love, this simple crochet brings colors and joy to life. With each stitch, you design not just a piece of decoration but a string of emotions, perfect for celebrations or adding a cozy vibe to your home.

Crochet Heart Garland Pattern Save

Materials Needed:

  • I/5.5 mm crochet hook
  • Worsted weight yarn in various colors (pinks, reds, whites)
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

Heart Pattern:

1 Save

Row 1:

  • Begin with a slip knot and chain 4.
  • Make 3 treble crochets into the first chain.
  • Then do 3 double crochets into that same chain.
  • Chain 1, do 1 treble crochet (this is the bottom tip of the heart), and chain 1 again.
  • Do 3 double crochets in the same chain.
  • Complete this side with 3 treble crochets in the same chain.
  • To finish the round, chain 3 and slip stitch into the loop.

2 Save

In Row 2:

  • Chain 3.
  • Single crochet and half-double crochet into the top of the first treble crochet.
  • In the next stitch, do 3 half-double crochets.
  • In the following stitch, do 2 half-double crochets.
  • Continue with 4 single crochets down the side.
  • At the bottom tip, single crochet into the chain-2 space, chain 2, and single crochet again into the same space to create a loop.
  • Now mirror the pattern on the other side of the heart in reverse order:
  • 4 single crochets,
  • 2 half-double crochets,
  • 3 half-double crochets in the next stitch,
  • Half-double crochet and single crochet in the next stitch.
  • Chain 3 and slip stitch back into the first hole.

3 Save

Row 3:

  • Chain 3.
  • Single crochet in the first stitch, 2 single crochets in the next, alternate between one single crochet and two single crochets for the next few stitches.
  • Do 7 single crochets in a row.
  • Skip a stitch and single crochet into the chain-2 space from the previous row. Chain 3 and single crochet into the same chain-2 space.
  • Continue the pattern on the other side of the heart, mirroring the established pattern.
  • Finish with a slip stitch in the center of the heart.
  • Cut the yarn, leaving a tail to weave in the ends with a yarn needle.

Garland Assembly:

  • Chain 45 to start the garland, which will form the top.
  • Attach each heart by single crocheting into the topmost loops on either side of the hearts.
  • After each heart, chain 6.
  • After attaching all hearts (15 in total as per video content), chain 12 between each heart attachment.
  • Chain another 45 at the end, then secure the ends by making a slip stitch.
