Materials:

  • 3 skeins of 50g/105m yarn (100% cotton recommended)
  • Crochet hooks: 4mm and 3.5mm
  • Scissors
  • Needle
  • Markers
  • Yarn for embroidery

Pattern:

Save

Foundation:

  • Create a single crochet foundation chain or a chain of air loops. (95 single crochet for size S, divisible by 5, fitting your chest circumference).

Joining:

  • Slip stitch to join into first single crochet.

Row 1:

  • Chain 1 (as the first single crochet), chain 4, skip 3 stitches, single crochet into the 4th, chain 3, skip 3 stitches, and single crochet into next, repeat pattern around.

Row 2:

  • Chain 5 (loosely), single crochet into first arch, chain 4 (loose), skip small arch, single crochet into big arch, repeat pattern around.

In Rows 3 to 9:

  • Alternate between Row 1 and Row 2 as needed for 9 rows total.

Row 10 - Fan Pattern:

  • Chain 1, single crochet in the arch, chain 5, single crochet in next arch, 2 double crochet in a single crochet of previous row, chain 1, 2 double crochet in same stitch, creating a fan.

Row 11:

  • Start from the arch, chain 1 and single crochet into the arch, chain 5, single crochet on top of the fan (chain space), chain 5 and repeat.

Repeat:

  • Repeat Rows 10 and 11 as desired to achieve the necessary height for the pattern.

Row 12 Onwards:

  • Fans only. Repeat the fan pattern (2 DC, CH 1, 2 DC) across the row.

Ending Rows:

  • Final few rows create a puff stitch chain look border, alternating with arches and fans.

Top Part:

  • Switch to a 3.5mm hook if desired, create half double crochets around, making increases every 19 stitches.
