Materials:

  • Safety eyes
  • Yarn
  • Crochet hook
  • Stuffing

Body:

Round 1: 6 single crochet in a magic circle.

  • Round 2: Single crochet around.
  • Round 3: 6 increases.
  • Round 4: Single crochet around.
  • Round 5: Increase, chain 4, 2 half double crochet in the second chain from hook, 2 slip stitches down the chain, increase in the main piece. Place a safety eye in the stitch with the increase between rounds 4 and 5. Repeat from * to * once more, and place the second safety eye. Increase in each of the remaining 6 stitches of the round.
  • Round 6: 12 decreases.
  • Round 7: 6 decreases. Stuff the head.
  • Round 8: Single crochet around.
  • Round 9: 6 increases.
  • Round 10: 6 single crochet, then 3 single crochet, chain 4, starting in the second chain from the hook do 3 slip stitches. Repeat from * to * once.

Round 11: 3 single crochet, increase, repeat 2 more times.

  • Rounds 12-13: Single crochet around for 2 rounds.
  • Round 14: 7 single crochet, then 4 single crochet, chain 4, starting in the second chain from the hook do 3 slip stitches. Repeat from * to * once.
  • Round 15: 3 single crochet, decrease, repeat 2 more times. Stuff the body.
  • Round 16: 6 decreases.
  • Rounds 17-19: Single crochet around for 3 rounds. Finish stuffing the body and tail.
  • Round 20: Decrease, then 4 single crochet.
  • Rounds 21-23: Single crochet around for 3 rounds.
  • Round 24: Decrease, then 3 single crochet.

Closing the Body:

  • Row 2: 2 single crochet, Pico, turn.
  • Row 3: Decrease and fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Flower Wings (make 2):

  • Start with 3 single crochet in a magic ring, leaving a tail for sewing.
  • Row 2: 3 increases, change to secondary color, turn without chaining.
  • Row 3: Slip stitch, chain 4, starting in the second chain from the hook do 3 slip stitches. Repeat from * to * four more times for a total of 5 petals. Fasten off with a long tail for weaving in.

Flower Tail Piece:

  • Start with 5 single crochet in a magic ring, change to secondary color on the last stitch.
  • Round 2: Slip stitch, chain 3, starting in the second chain from the hook do 2 slip stitches. Repeat from * to * four more times for a total of 5 petals. Fasten off with a long tail for sewing.

Assembly:

  • Sew the regular wings to rows 10-12 on the body's back.
  • Attach the regular tail pieces to rows 23-26 on the side of the body's tail.
  • Sew the flower wings to rows 10-13 on the body's back.
