Supplies:

  • Green, white, red yarn
  • Crochet hook
  • Fiberfill stuffing
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors
  • Black yarn for seeds
  • Keychain ring

Pattern:

Starting with Green Yarn:

3 Save

Chain 13: Make 13 chains to begin.

Row 1:

  • Make 11 single crochets across the chain starting from the second chain from the hook.
  • In the last chain, do 3 single crochets to turn the corner.
  • Continue with 10 single crochets on the opposite side.
  • Make an increase in the last stitch (2 single crochets in the same stitch).
  • Slip stitch to the first single crochet of this round.

Row 2:

  • Start with 1 increase, followed by 10 single crochets.
  • In the corner, make 3 increases (2 single crochets in each of the next 3 stitches).
  • Continue with 10 single crochets and 2 increases.
  • Slip stitch to close the row and make a chain.

For Row 3:

  • Make one single crochet in each of the stitches totaling 32 single crochets.
  • Crochet only in the back loops (inner yarn) of each stitch.
  • Slip stitch to close the row and make a chain.

2 Save

Row 4:

  • Continues in the same manner as Row 3 with 32 single crochets.
  • Slip stitch to close and prepare to change to white yarn.

Changing to White Yarn:

Change to White Yarn: Grab the white yarn when making the chain to transition to the new color.

Row 5:

  • Begin with a single crochet already completed in the transition.
  • Make 1 single crochet decrease.
  • Complete the next 9 single crochet stitches and perform another decrease.
  • Continue with the pattern: Single crochet, decrease, until the end of the row.

Changing to Red Yarn:

Change to Red Yarn: Before starting Row 7, change to red yarn.

4 Save

Row 7:

  • Crochet 8 single crochets.

Row 13-14:

Row 15:

  • For the last row, make 6 decreases by doing single crochet decreases throughout the row.
  • After completing the row, cut the yarn leaving a tail.

Finishing:

Closing the Piece:

  • Using a yarn needle, weave the yarn tail through the front loops of the remaining stitches.
  • Pull tight to close the hole, and secure the end.

Add Seed Details:

  • Using black yarn, sew small stitches for the seeds randomly over the red area.

Attach Keychain:
