Snowman Body & Head:

Magic Ring Start:

  • Make a slip knot and chain two (these chains will act as your magic ring).

Round 1:

  • Six single crochets into the first chain (the magic ring).

Increasing Rounds:

Round 2:

  • Do six increases (two single crochets in each stitch) for a total of 12 stitches.
  • Use scrap yarn as a stitch marker to mark the end of each round.

1

Continued Increases:

Round 3:

  • (Single Crochet, Increase) x 6 for a total of 18 stitches.

After Round 4:

  • (2 Single Crochets, Increase) x 6 for a total of 24 stitches.

Round 5:

  • (3 Single Crochets, Increase) x 6 for a total of 30 stitches.

2

Consistent Rounds:

Rounds 6-7:

  • Single crochet around without increasing for 2 rounds.

Decreasing for the Head Top:

Round 8:

  • (3 Single Crochets, Decrease) x 6 for a total of 24 stitches.

Round 9:

  • (2 Single Crochets, Decrease) x 6 for a total of 18 stitches.
  • Place the 12 mm safety eyes between Rounds 8 and 9, about 7 stitches apart.

More Rounds for the Body:

Round 11:

  • Begin increasing again (Single Crochet, Increase) x 6 back up to 18 stitches, adding stuffing to the head.
  • Continue with similar patterns of increasing for Round 12 and beyond, till Round 17, each time increasing the stitch count as per the rounds instructed in your scraped information.

4

Finishing:

  • After the final increase round needed to form the body, proceed with decreasing rounds similarly to how you did for the head, ending with Round 24, a decreasing round to close the body.
  • Sew the bottom hole closed with a yarn needle.

Nose (Embroidery):

  • Using orange yarn, embroider a carrot nose between the safety eyes by overlaying several stitches to form a thick, visible line.

Arms:

  • Make slip knots with brown yarn and attach to the sides of the body at an appropriate round (e.g., Round 13).
  • Chain seven, create fingers by single crocheting down the chain, create a V-shape for the hand, and slip stitch to attach to the body.

3

Scarf:

  • With the color chosen for the scarf, chain 42 (or an appropriate length to wrap around the snowman), and single crochet back along the chains to create a scarf. Wrap it around the snowman's neck and sew the ends down if desired.

Top Hat:

  • Start with a magic ring and the primary color of your hat, follow the increase patterns mentioned, and then switch colors as described to create the rim.
  • Sew the top hat onto the snowman.
