This Crochet Peapod Amigurumi is absolutely adorable! The delightful green peas snug in their cozy peapod are just too cute for words. Crochet Peapod Amigurumi Pattern & Tutorial Save

Materials:

  • Fiberfill for stuffing
  • Milk cotton yarn in 4ply (pea green, dark green)
  • 4ply yarn (black, pink)
  • Crochet hook 2mm (2/0)
  • Stitch marker
  • Yarn needle
  • Black half pearl 6mm for eyes
  • Glue for eyes
  • Scissors

Peas (Make 3):

3 Save

Start with pea green yarn

  • R1: Make a Magic Ring (MR), 6SC in MR [6 ST]
  • R2: 6INC [12]
  • R3: (1SC, 1INC) x6 [18]
  • R4: (2SC, 1INC) x6 [24]
  • R5-R8: SC 24 [24]
  • R9: (2SC, 1DEC) x6 [18] (use the invisible decrease technique)
  • R10: (1SC, 1DEC) x6 [12]
  • R11: 6DEC [6], close up the opening, finish stuffing and fasten off.

Peapod:

4 Save

Start with dark green yarn

  • Make a slipknot, then chain 26 (26CH).
  • R1: Start the first round with 1 DC increase (DC-INC) in the 3rd chain from the hook, make 22DC, in the last chain stitch make 4DC, then turn to the other side of the chain and make 22DC, then finish with 1DC-INC.
  • R2: SLST to join the round and chain 2 to start, (1DC, 1DC-INC), follow with 22DC, then (1DC-INC, 2DC, 1DC-INC), another 22DC, and finish with (1DC-INC, 1DC) [56 ST]
  • R3: Same as previous but with appropriate increases for the round [60 ST]
  • R4: Continue the pattern, increasing as necessary [64 ST]
  • R5: Final increase round as established [68 ST]

2 Save

Close the round with a SLST and leave a long tail for sewing. Fold the peapod at each corner and line up the stitches. Sew along each side, 4 stitches from both sides. Tie off and weave in the ends.

Finishing Touches:

For Eyes (Choose one style):

  • Ver. 1: Embroider with black yarn, simple eyes shape " ^ ^ " between R6.
  • Ver. 2: Embroider with black yarn, closed eyes " > < " between R6 and R7, one stitch apart.
  • Ver.3: Attach black half pearl 6mm for eyes with glue between R6, two stitches apart for eyelashes.

Blush:

Embroider with pink yarn or use blusher under the eyes for a cute blush effect.
