  • Yarn: Five shades of "blme moton" yarn in four colors
  • Crochet Hook: Sizes 3.5 or 4 mm
  • Eyes: 10 or 12 mm size
  • Adhesive: All-purpose glue or a hot glue gun
  • Accessories: Needles, scissors, stitch markers

Instructions:

1 Save

Round 1:

  • Start with a slip knot.
  • Chain 12.
  • Skip the first two chains. In the third chain, make a double crochet.
  • Make another double crochet in the same third stitch (total of two double crochets in this third stitch).
  • Make one double crochet in each of the next eight chains.
  • In the last chain, make three double crochets.
  • Continue on the other side of the chains by inserting your hook and making one double crochet in each stitch until you complete eight more double crochets.

2 Save

Round 2:

  • Slip stitch into the second chain from the start of round 1 to close.
  • Start round 2 by chaining two.
  • In the first stitch, make a double crochet increase (two double crochets in the same stitch).
  • Repeat the double crochet increase in the next stitch.
  • Make one double crochet in each of the next eight stitches.
  • Do three consecutive double crochet increases (each with two double crochets in the same stitch).
  • Complete the round by making eight more single double crochets and finish with a double crochet increase in the last stitch.
  • Change the yarn color to yellow with a new slip knot.

3 Save

After Round 3:

  • Chain two.
  • Make one double crochet in the first stitch and a double crochet increase in the second stitch; repeat this pattern twice.
  • Continue with eight single double crochets.
  • Repeat the double crochet and increase pattern three more times.
  • Finish with eight more double crochets and a final double crochet increase in the last stitch.
  • Join with a slip stitch.

4 Save

Round 4:

  • Chain two.
  • Make one double crochet in each stitch around (34 double crochets total).
  • Join with a slip stitch.

5 Save

Round 5:

  • Start with a chain and a single crochet.
  • Make four single crochets, switch to blue yarn on the fifth single crochet.
  • Make a triple crochet (to form spikes).
  • Repeat the single crochet and triple crochet pattern around.
