Materials:

  • Green yarn (for flower petals)
  • Crochet hook

Pattern Instructions:

  • Starting with the Circle (Using Yellow Yarn).

Create a Double Circle:

  • Use the yellow yarn to make a double circle on your finger.

Form 5 Single Crochet:

  • Insert the hook into the circle and work five single crochet stitches. Control the tension by holding the yarn with your left hand.

Close the Circle:

  • To close the circle, first tug on the end and pull through the yarn. Pull this part to tighten the circle as much as possible. Secure the circle by pushing through the tail again, ensuring it's tight. Then, cut off the excess tail.

Ending Round 1:

  • Find the first stitch and work a slip stitch. You can minimize the slip stitch by pulling through this yarn. Chain one to start round two, but do not count this as a stitch.

Round 2 (Increases):

  • Work five increases by doing 2 single crochet in each space, resulting in 10 single crochet stitches by the end of this round.

Round 3:

  • Start with one single crochet, then one increase, and repeat this pattern five times to end up with 15 stitches.
  • Pull the tail to the back to tidy up.

Changing to Green Yarn (Flower Petals):

  • Make a slip knot with the green yarn and connect it to the flower's center (heart) from the first stitch of the previous round.
  • Work 5 chains to start the petal pattern.

Forming the Petals:

Creating the Petal Base:

  • Find the back bump of the chains and work through them to create the petal's base. Incorporate the hidden tail for additional security.

Building the Petal:

  • With 7 loops on the hook, yarn over and pull through two loops, repeating until all loops are worked through. This creates the first grouping of the petal pattern.
  • Repeat this pattern, making sure to work into the designated spaces on the flower's heart to ensure even spacing of the petals. Each space will accommodate the base of two petals until you've created all five petals.

Finalizing Each Petal:

Diverse Pattern for Ending Petals:

  • For the last petal pattern, skip the first bump and work into the second, maintaining the same procedure as before but adjusting for the flower’s design. End with a slip stitch through the back bumps to complete each petal.
  • Continue inserting into the appropriate spaces on the flower’s heart and repeat all steps until you have a total of five petals.

Completing the Flower:

5 Save

  • After creating all five petals, cut the tail and secure your work.
